Comic Book Review (7/10) "Good"Action Comics #975 "Superman: Reborn Part 2/ The Man in the Purple Hat"
Writers: Dan Jurgens/ Paul Dini
Artists: Doug Mahnke/ Ian Churchill
Plot: Superman and Lois just lost Jon to a mysterious blue flame and they believe the doppelganger Clark Kent is responsible for his disappearance. However, the doppelganger Kent is holding onto a secret that may shock the real Clark Kent...
The first story is actually a drawn out mess of a story that tried to make a reveal more dramatic (or use several pages as an excuse to draw Superman's greatest villains - although the artwork is fantastic), and I actually started rolling my eyes by the third transformation (you'll know what I'm talking about if you pick up the comic) of the character. The second story was actually my favorite of this special double sized anniversary issue as it seemed to be more complex and had a more complete story. Finally, the question to the identity of the doppelganger Clark Kent is revealed and it may either surprise you...or disappoint you...
A good read, but unnecessarily drawn out.
